Sean Miller writes the weekly European football column for NJ.com.
Starting with a fateful trip in May of 2011, he has been to over 100 games in six countries (England, France, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal, Wales) and that number will increase with a December trip to Barcelona to attend El Clasico. Among those matches over the past five years is a UEFA Europa League Final in Dublin and Champions League Final in London, both in 2011. Miller has followed Manchester United for almost 20 years, and has seen the Red Devils play 70 times.
His love for the game started young, but was truly ignited in New York City, when Miller attended Columbia University. But watching the 1999 Champions League Final on his couch, when Manchester United scored twice in injury time to beat Bayern Munich 2-1, is the moment when the game became something more.
Miller covers the game at all levels for the Times of Trenton, NJ.com, and Dorf Feature Services. He was a three-plus year head coach at Trenton Catholic, winning the only three division titles in the six-decade history of the school, and currently coaches at Next Level Soccer Academy.
